On a rainy winter morning in Munich, I photographed this great couple, Steffanie and Fabian. On such bad weather days, the search for a location can get difficult. However, the botanical garden Nymphenburg
was the perfect choice. Despite the weather outside, we made it warm with the orchids, the cactus and the palm trees. The gentle light filtered through the glass roofs of the greenhouse was the perfect prerequisite for wonderful portraits. Greenhouses are also a great place to organize a bridal photo session when it rains outside. They are also suitable as a location for the wedding party, as Vanessa and Michael did. The green of the garden and the exotic plants offered a good change to the metropolitan ambience of Munich on this particular Sunday morning with Steffi and Fabian. The garden Nymphenburg has innumerable greenhouses, which can be visited in about one hour. For the photoshoot, I decided to take a bit of almost every greenhouse to create different landscapes in the images.
Such spontaneous couple shootings, without a specific reason and just to celebrate the love of two people, always make me very happy. The romantic pictures are perfect for the save-the-date cards before the wedding or just to decorate the apartment.
I have known dear Steffi for five years. We met for the first time during our master studies in Tübingen. And, of course, I was overjoyed that I finally got to know Fabian, her boyfriend, during my visit to Munich. At the photo shoot I immediately noticed how much they trusted each other and how well they felt together. It was just great for me, as Steffi’s friend, to see, from behind my camera, how happy she is. I wish them both the best of luck in the world and I hope that I can capture them smiling with my camera a thousand times more.
